Pothole kills boy

PUNE, May 10: A 15-year-old boy was crushed to death under the wheels of a State Transport ST bus on the busy Pune-Solapur Road near Hadapsar yesterday.

The victim, Santosh Rupchand Jagtap, was riding his bicycle to his home at Vaiduvadi when he was hit by the ST bus. The mishap occurred around 11.45 am.The Wanowarie police have arrested Mohit Deshmukh, 35, who was driving the Pune-Nilanga ST bus MH 20, D 2413.

Although the bus driver has been charged with rash and negligent driving, the police sources claimed that the boy had lost control over the bicycle when it went into a pothole.
