VADODARA, Aug 9: In its bid to keep pace with technological advancements, the Postal administration in the Vadodara region too has introduced several new technological features and services during the recent past and has plans to better its services.

According to the Postmaster General, Vadodara region, Vijay Chitale, with the help of a Very Small Aparture Terminal VSAT, satellite money order services have been recently been extended to 10 places including Haalol Panchmahals, Dahod, Dabhoi Vadodara and Dakor Kheda. The new technology facilitates much quicker transmission and payment of money orders all over the country.

The spokesman said that the fully computerised registration centre at Race Course Post Office, which handles all registered articles booked in Vadodara was now 8212; given its efficient functioning 8212; considered to the be the second of its kind in the State. While the Fatehgunj head post office had also been recently computerised, two other post offices at Race Course and Fatehpura would also be computerised soon.

Highlighting various other technological advancements such as procuring currency counting machines and high speed franking machines at the two main post offices in the city, the spokesman said that the department8217;s philatelic bureau had also been recently modernised.
