Cape town, Jan 5: A fine all-round display from Jacques Kallis and two late wickets left West Indies teetering on the brink of a fourth successive Test defeat by South Africa today.
Kallis followed up innings of 110 and 88 not out with three wickets as he took the new ball in place of the injured Allan Donald to plunge the confidence-wracked tourists deep into trouble.
At close on the fourth day, they were 93 for six 8212; having been set an improbable victory target of 421.
At 87 for four at the start of the penultimate over of the day, they at least looked to be making a fight of it on the final day.
But Darren Ganga8217;s 46-minute partnership with Brian Lara was ended when he fell to Shaun Pollock for the fourth time in his four Test innings on this tour.
It was Pollock8217;s 117th Test wicket, putting him one ahead of his father Peter Pollock, the convenor of South Africa8217;s selectors and a former fast bowler himself.
Pollock senior took his wickets in 28 Tests, one fewer than Pollock although the sonhas bowled fewer balls in Tests.
