NEW DELHI, May 26: The Delhi traffic police has organised a three day work shop cum training programme for chartered and school bus drivers. The workshop aims at educating the drivers about driving skills, vehicle operation, effective control and maintenance of vehicles.The services of IRTE were utilised and emphasis was given on good driving behaviour and , consideration for other road users, courtesy, competitiveness, over confidence, impatience, aggressive and offensive driving, compliance of traffic rules, sound psychological and physical attitude, mental alertness and avoidance of alcohol.They were also made aware of various traffic rules offences and violations and provisions of the Motor Vehicle Act. The main cause of accidents and how they could be prevented was also analysed during the work shop. They were specifically told to adhere to the directives of Supreme Court of India. They were also given the detailed information of various traffic management techniques used by traffic police to optimise the road space for maximum traffic flow, to promote road safety and how to keep noise and air pollution under control.
