Phaneesh, Infy settle sexual harassment suit

Phaneesh Murthy, who had quit Infosys and was CEO of iGate Global Solutions when Griffith pressed charges, settled days before a trial fixed for October 29.

8216;8216;Infosys has learnt that the sexual harassment lawsuit filed by Jennifer Griffith, a former employee, against the company and Phaneesh Murthy, a former director, has been settled by them shortly before the October 29, 2004 trial date,8217;8217; Narayana Murthy said.

8216;8216;Infosys did not contribute any money to the settlement and was not a signatory to the settlement agreement,8217;8217; he said.

8216;8216;Infosys has learnt from its insurers8217; counsel that the settlement releases Infosys from all claims and liabilities alleged in the lawsuit,8217;8217; Narayana Murthy added.

Infosys has, however, retained all rights against Phaneesh Murthy and 8216;8216;did not release him from any claims it may have against him,8217;8217; the Infosys Chief Mentor said.

Phaneesh Murthy could not be reached for comment on Wednesday.
