CHANDIGARH, Nov 3: The XXI international session of All India Persian Teachers8217; Conference concluded here today at the Punjab University Law auditorium. Madan Mohan Mittal Punjab8217;s Food and Supplies Minister was the chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, he said that Persian had played a major role in strengthening the Indo-Iran relations and the civilisations of both the countries had their roots in the Persian language.

Today the scholars discussed the quot;Challenges before the Persian languagequot;. Mehri Baqari, Vice-Chancellor of a women university in Iran presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Akhtar Ali, a research scholar in the language from Hyderabad, said that quot;merely holding discussions would not solve the challenges before the language but that the curriculum of the Persian language course be updated. The course should be made job orientedquot;.

Prof Azarmi Dukth Safavi, president of AIPTA agreed with Ali and said that a tactical method should be evolved.

A cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.
