After the serial blast that rocked Delhi on Saturday on Monday, Delhiites saw a new morning when stores in the markets were open and traders busy at work. Yet, the bustle was missing. On Sunday, most of the market was closed. On Monday all markets were open, but the crowds were still thin.

In Connaught Place CP, shopkeepers waiting for customers to fill the shops and pavements, were a disappointed lot. Some vendors said, 8220;We take permission from the police to open shop. But what can we do if there aren8217;t enough people venturing out into the markets?8221;

The blasts have had an impact in Palika Bazaar which shoppers are avoiding, and the crowd is much less than on any weekday.

One of the oldest shopkeepers Ashok Grover said, 8220;I8217;ve been working for 25 years and traders stand to lose because people are too scared to go to public places.8221;
