Pension cut? ICL will help

A day after the Indian cricket board tightened the screws on former cricketers and umpires on Zee8217;s radar, deciding to deny them pension, the breakaway league has got back by promising recruits that they would virtually reimburse any such loss.

On Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India8217;s finance committee decided to withhold the monthly welfare scheme of players and umpires who are set to join the Indian Cricket League. Today, top ICL sources told this newspaper that they would pay those who join them separate monthly pensions8212;for the same amounts 8212; apart from three-year retainers.
