PCMC to launch cleanliness drive

PUNE, JUNE 29: The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation PCMC will be conducting a cleanliness drive in the twin township from July 1 to 7 by involving citizens groups, social organisations, industrial employees and school children.

A massive public awareness programme is also to be launched during the week. Giving details of the programme additional commissioner R B Konde today said that MLA8217;s Gajanan Babar, Rambhau Moze, Ajit Pawar, and Kumar Gosavi, besides the first elected chairman of the erstwhile Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Council Dr S S Ghare, have been invited for launching the drive.

There will be different programmes for different sections of people such as doctors, social organisations, hoteliers, industrial workers, school students, during the week.

The corporation will be involving various social organisations for implementing the action plan and has asked them to explain how they can help the corporation, Konde said.
