PUNE, Nov 22: The State unit of the Nationalist Congress Party, which has embarked on an elaborate exercise to revamp its cadres, is now preparing for a birthday bash with a difference for its president Sharad Pawar.
Pawar8217;s birthday on December 12 would be observed as swabhiman divas, NCP Maharashtra unit president Babanrao Pachpute told media persons today.
The NCP has chalked out a 100-day action programme as a first step towards an internal revamp. It was launched from Beed on November 19, Pachpute said. Under the action programme, district-level and taluka-level meetings of the NCP activists would be held in order to strengthen the party cadres at these levels.
The party would soon prune its jumbo-sized state executive, he said. The endeavour would be to limit the party executive committee to 51.
