Pawar still undecided

NEW DELHI, May 24: Supporters of Maharashtra satrap Sharad Pawar, who are quietly watching the power struggle in the Congress, today received a shot in the arm from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh8217;s stand that a contest should be preferred to a consensus.

8220;Elections should be held though this has not been done for the past few years,8221; Digvijay Singh told journalists in New Delhi today. 8220;It is always good if the democratic practice is followed.8221;

Singh8217;s remarks assume significance against the backdrop of Congress Working Committee member Rajesh Pilot8217;s decision to contest for the party presidentship.
