The only good words that Home Minister Shivraj Patil received last week may be from a section of Muslim organisations. Enthused by the lifting of the ban on SIMI, various Muslim outfits including the Jamaat-e-Islami and Majilis-e-Mushawarat were planning to send bouquets to the Home Minister. To thank him for the 8220;objective8221; report on SIMI which had resulted in the lifting of the ban, some had even announced plans to organise a public function to felicitate him. But with the Supreme Court staying the exemption given to SIMI, all the plans were obviously stalled, thereby saving the Home Minister from some more blushes.
