Lok Janashakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan was precise, straightforward and to the point when he raised some pertinent issues at a press conference this evening.
First, he congratulated SP leader Mulayam Singh Yadav for his new job as Uttar Pradesh CM and for bringing together a secular, united government in Lucknow.
‘‘In the garb of proclaiming herself as ‘daughter of Dalit’, Mayawati has been responsible for corrupt governance,’’ Paswan said. However, he said, he would be keeping a watch on how Yadav maintains the secular factor. ‘‘This government should prove its secularism at every step. If any issue like DPM L.K. Advani’s court cases or Ayodhya comes up, I am certain Mulayam will act according to the law and the Constitution,’’ Paswan said.
