SOLAPUR, November 9: Former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee today criticised the Centre for “delay in formation of a separate state of Uttaranchal.” “All the formalities in this regard have been completed, but still Uttaranchal has not been materialised”, Vajpayee told reporters here. “Our party will take up this issue in the next session of Parliament,” the senior BJP leader said.
Clean chit to MLA
NEW DELHI: A Delhi Court has given a clean chit to an MLA in a contempt case and slapped a fine of Rs 500 on the petitioner for misusing the forum of the court. The Civil Judge, Vipin Kumar Gupta, on Friday exonerated an MLA of the Delhi Assembly, Naresh Gaur, after hearing a contempt of court petition filed by Jagdish Nandwani of Naveen Shahdra on September 12, 95.
Ajit backs RJD
NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Kisan Kamgar Party is in favour of admitting Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the UF saying it is a political necessity to stall communal forces from joining forces. Ajit Singh, said the main purpose of the UF was to prevent the communal forces and RJD was an anti-communal party.

AGARTALA: Both the ruling Left Front and the main opposition Congress have called for a dawn to dusk Tripura bandh tomorrow to protest against the killing of 20 persons, including nine BSF men, last Friday. The Front gave the bandh call terming the killing as a “deep-rooted conspiracy of the anti-Left forces”.
