Renowned Punjabi writer and former Cultural Affairs minister of Pakistan Fakhar Zaman wants a common commission to be set up to rewrite history being taught to students in India and Pakistan. Zaman, whose novels are prescribed in postgraduate courses in India too, is the chairman of the World Punjabi Conference, and is attending the conference here.
He said there was a need to rewrite portions of distorted history that were being taught to students in the two countries. That would help reduce bitterness between the two communities he said.
