MUMBAI, OCT 1: Off-spinner Viraj Pai continued where he had left off, picking up five wickets for 39 runs as his team Dattu Phadkar XI opened their second round match against Vijay Manjrekar XI in the Sportstar Trophy Mumbai Cricket Association under-19 selection tournament here today.

Pai, who had picked up four wickets versus Merchant XI in the Sportstar Trophy first-round match, aided and abetted by medium pacer Rohan Ganphule, who took five for 39, restricted Manjrekar XI8217;s first innings to 128.

Manjrekar XI8217;s best effort with the bat came from Ashutosh Narkar 28 and Sushant Manjrekar 26. However, they kept themselves in the game with a fine riposte from off-spinner Darshan Panchal. Panchal took 3-31 in Phadkar XI8217;s first inning of 107 for five at stumps today.

Scores: Vijay Manjrekar XI 128 all out in 51.2 overs Ashutosh Narkar 28, Sushant Manjrekar 26; Rohan Ganphule 3-51, Viraj Pai 5-39 vs Dattu Phadkar XI Kamran Chowdhary 33, Sameer Gavas batting 23, Milesh Gavas batting 10;Darshan Panchal 3-31.
