Ahmedabad8217;s Rupesh Shah8217;s venture into the big time cue sport arena failed to yield the required result, having lost in the quarter finals of the Asian billiards championships held in Doha to Aung Htay of Myanmar. And the new format was why he lost.

He had a pretty high ranking shooting off 8212; third in billiards and second in snooker8212; but 8220;earlier the game was played in the time format. For past two years the format has shifted to 100 point format. It was for the first time we were playing in this format, 8221; he said. He is set to play in the MIG invitational snooker tournament from June 27.
