Former Liverpool manager Gerard Houllier is backing goal-shy striker Michael Owen to come good for England at Euro 2004. Houllier, who groomed Owen for six years at Anfield before being dismissed last month, told reporters: 8216;8216;I8217;m sure he8217;ll score. It8217;s so tight that strikers are sometimes coming up against two banks of four.8217;8217; Sven-Goran Eriksson too believes Owen is about to end his goal drought at Euro 2004. 8220;Give him one chance and the ball is there. Everything is about confidence and if you don8217;t touch the ball very much, confidence will go down.8221;

But assistant coach Steve McClaren feels Owen needs to focus on creating chances for Rooney if he cannot end his goal drought. 8220;Michael8217;s world class and he will score goals. We8217;re very hopeful. But if he8217;s not scoring, then he8217;s got to do as he did in the Switzerland game, set up the first goal and create room for the likes of other people like Wayne Rooney,8221; he said.

Leave Prso to me: Terry

England defender John Terry hopes his experience of dealing with Croatia striker Dado Prso in last season8217;s Champions League will pay dividends in Monday8217;s Group B decider. 8220;I studied the game after we lost at Monaco. He8217;s a fantastic player, but hopefully, having played against him a couple of times I8217;ve learned from that,8221; said Terry.
