Outreach programme by Chennai Police

CHENNAI, April 13: The police force has undertaken and Out Reach programme, to establish a better relationship with the public and improve services. The khaki-clad men walked into homes to interact with the residents, and, though the visit initially created a sense of apprehension, the people responded with pleasure once the purpose was made clear. The policemen sought to know the problems of the local residents, and gave them the names and numbers of police personnel to contact in case of emergencies.
