Gems galore

For the first time ever, the Australian diamond mining giant Argyle, has come together with one of India8217;s leading jewellery manufacturers 8212; Inter Gold Gems. The result: Occasions, an exclusive collection of diamond-studded jewellery. Made from champagne and cognac diamonds, it is a collection quot;for the contemporary woman of all agesquot;. In fact, this launch is the first of the two events Argyle has planned for India. The next one will be a collaboration with Sparkles 8212; another well-known jewellery manufacturer and retailer to come out with yet another unique collection to be launched in October. With Argyle being the largest quantity producer of diamonds in the world, the Mumbai mulgi may have just got an introduction to her knight in shining armour.

As for the men, Arrow has equally good news. It has launched the country8217;s first personalised monogrammed shirt. It8217;s seems that8217;s the name of the game these days!

Top form

Try topping this. Last fortnight, Monaco biscuits had a Toppings Carnival8217; that featured the most creative recipes for these delicious salty biscuits. A fair-like atmosphere, with attractions like palm readers and tattoo artists, made the tasty treats even more attractive. Did you fail to participate in the fun? Not to worry. Watch this space for a second chance at sampling.

Centre stage

Without doubt the event of this weekend will be Tarun Tahiliani8217;s fashion show. In the business for over a decade now, his store Ensemble was one of the first designer boutiques to open in the city. So far, it has lost none of its premier position and invitations for the show are going abegging. With good reason. The show are always grand affairs. A few years ago, Tarun flew all his clients down to Goa to display his clothes on the beach. The year after that, the Oberoi had a gala to beat all events. But all that stopped when Tarun shifted to Delhi to open more Ensemble stores. The lasttwo years he stuck to shows only in the capital.

But now it is back to Mumbai and the Regal Room at the Oberoi for his latest collection sans title. Richly embroidered with Swarovski crystal, Ensemble believes that each outfit is a statement on its own. Which is why each model will take the stage alone.
