
Atos Origin, global consulting and infotech services company, will grow headcount of its Indian operations over seven fold to 5,000 and scout for acquiring it arms of energy, banking entities for outsourcing business in the country.
Following acquisition of Schlumbergersema8217;s it business, Atos Origin8217;s manpower strength in India has grown to 700 persons and combined operations would now focus on national business for energy, telecom and financial services as well as outsourcing for global clients, company chief executive Asia-pacific K.C. Neoh said.
The global consulting outfit has set a target to double its turnover to euro 10 billion by end of 2005 and the Indian operations would play crucial role with high quality talent and cost advantage, Neoh said.
8220;We are working out of Mumbai, Kolkata and New Delhi and our team is looking for new location to expand operations and ramp up human resource base to 5,000 in next three years8221;, he said.
The offshore work for some existing clients and new business would be carried out from India but there would be few jobs transfers, he added. Asked about strategy for growing business for Indian unit, he said.
