
NEW DELHI, JUNE 16: The 8.3 billion US software powerhouse, Oracle Corporation is all geared to take their German rival SAP head on in the enterprise resource planning ERP solutions market in India with a special focus on public sector undertakings PSUs.
quot;We have edged them SAP out in other parts of the world and are sure of snatching the market leadership in India, and is the prime agenda before us in coming years,quot; Derek Williams, senior vice-president of Oracle told PTI in a teleconference from Singapore today.
However, he accepted that the company has lost out in initial race to SAP in India in offering ERP solutions and said that Oracle will soon outclass the rivals by gearing up partner-centric approach effectively.
quot;Oracle is a strong contender to SAP world-wide and accept the fact that we are losing out to them in India. We shall ride over them by adopting effectively a much greater partner centric relations,quot; he said.
India has significantly contributed along with China and Singapore to figure in the top six revenue earning countries for Oracle in this region, Williams said adding the company would focus on e-commerce and internet solutions.
Announcing oracle8217;s quarter four Q4 results, the chief of oracle8217;s operations in the Asia-Pacific and Japan said the growth rate has touched 47 per cent in the region. The growth rate was the best ever in the last four to five years and India made to the top six revenue earners for Oracle, he said.
