
Oracle, the second largest software company in the world after Microsoft, is increasing its presence in India.

Currently, Oracle India Private Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Oracle Corporation has around 6,000 people on its rolls in India.
The company would also invest in the country in a bid to 8216;8216;accelerate its growth8217;8217;, especially in applications server space and support operations, he said. He, however, did not specify the investment amount.
A major consideration would be to consolidate its back-office functions in the country, Phillips said, adding, information architecture and grid computing would be the main thrust areas.
