Onion prices touch Rs 100!

AGRA, OCT 22: The price of onions soared to Rs 100 a kilogramme here today, though the quality of the vegetable left much to be desired. As the quantity of onions was small, the stock got exhausted by afternoon.

Only dried and nearly-rotten onions were being sold at Rs 60 a kg, a PTI correspondent found during his visit to the vegetable market.

Prices of other vegetables also rose, with potatoes being sold at Rs 20 and above a kg and green coriander at Rs 100 a kg.
