
It has been a while since Vinay Pathak made us guffaw with his iconic film 8216;Bheja Fry8217;. However, the actor says he has been grappling with being typecast as a comedian and insists that his versatility in front of the camera has yet to be revealed. 8220;Ek Bheja Fry ne mera bheja kharab kar diya One Bheja Fry has befuddled my brain. And I8217;ve played many character roles before it,8221; says Pathak, promoting his latest film 8216;Dasvidanya8217; Russian for goodbye at PVR Select Citywalk.
Wearing aviator shades and dressed in a pair of denims and a crisp blue shirt, Pathak, who is also producing the movie, chats with the media, punctuating his answers with an occasional joke.
The script, though, is eerily similar to the 2007 Hollywood flick 8216;The Bucket List8217;, starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson. But Pathak is quick to deny this. 8220;It8217;s very different,8221; he insists. 8220;Kaul is an ordinary person who has to deal with unexpected news.8221; The film also stars the hit duo of Ranvir Shorey and Rajat Kapur but only because they are the most appropriate for the script, says Pathak.
This might be his first film as producer but Pathak has been producing TV serials for the last four years. He will next be seen in SRK and 8216;Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi8217;.
