The cricketers, led by Kapil Dev, visited the Lord8217;s ground and spoke optimistically about India winning the next World Cup. Kapil Dev opened a champagne bottle, just as he had done after the 1983 win, and said the Indian team had it in them to emulate their feat. 8220;We can definitely win in 2011, and we have been very close to winning more than once. Beating West Indies was a glorious moment,8221; he said. 8220;Why not? Now we have started believing we have that capacity.8221;

Sunil Gavaskar, for whom the greatest moment was watching Kapil Dev lifting the Prudential Cup, echoed the same sentiments. 8220;Yes, we have a very good chance. We now have plenty of options. In 2011, India will be able to win the trophy and break the jinx of countries not winning the World Cup as hosts,8221; Gavaskar said.

On being asked how he got the idea of this celebration, Gavaskar said he had come across a table plan at Lord8217;s, and then he decided that they should have a silver jubilee celebration of the World Cup victory.

BCCI president Sharad Pawar said the win recorded 25-years back was instrumental in changing the cricketing landscape in India. 8220;The 1983 victory changed everything in Indian cricket. Kapil Dev really changed the game,8221; he said, adding, 8220;cricket is now religion in India.8221;

He reminded the audience of India8217;s good performance and insisted India are the team to watch in the next World Cup.
