
The names which figured in previous blast cases in Uttar Pradesh are once again under scanner with the Intelligence Bureau IB and the Special Task Force STF preparing a list of such names.
The list includes Varanasi blast accused Shamim who is still at large.
The agencies are also collating details of persons who visited jails over the last one month to meet militants lodged in different jails of UP.
8220;We are now working on the basis of the list prepared,8221; said Additional Director General STF Brij Lal.
According to jail records, there are 55 militants lodged in different jails of the state. Of these, while 40 are Pakistani nationals, and 14 have been sent by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
8220;We have issued orders to upgrade vigil on them. All district jail administrations have been asked to prepare a register of visitors and items that enter the jail premises,8221; said SSP Sharad Kulshestra.
The IB and the STF have also begun probing the possible role of 40-year-old Shamim, a native of Chandauli, in the Friday8217;s blasts. Shamim8217;s name has figured in a number of cases, including the Sankatmochan and Cantt Railway station blasts.
