
MUMBAI, Feb 20: Trading at the National Stock Exchange was called off on Saturday after a transponder of one of the satellites used by the exchange failed, a senior bourse official said.
He said a transponder of the satellite on which some Very Small Aperture Terminals VSATS are located had failed on Friday night. Most of VSATs affected are in Mumbai, he added.
quot;The additional capital market trading session which was scheduled for today has been called off,quot; Satish Naralkar, senior vice-president, said. But the wholesale debt market will remain open, he added. quot;We will try to rectify the situation over the weekend and hopefully the capital market segment will be functional on Monday,quot; Naralkar said.
