North Zone win Mankad Trophy

Leg-spinner Abhishek Sharma claimed five wickets as North Zone beat East Zone by an innings and 163 runs in the final to win the under-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy at Rohtak.

Abhishek Sharma, who had claimed seven wickets in the first innings, got five more in the second 5 for 28 as East resuming at their overnight score of 88 for five reached 141 for nine in their second innings.

Haladhar Das did not turn up to bat in the second innings which was folded in just 52.4 overs on the fourth and final day. Besides Abhishek Sharma, left-arm spinner Aparajit Singh took three wickets while Rajesh claimed one.
