No decision on funds for PMT again

PUNE, Oct 20: The Standing Committee of the Pune Municipal Corporation today once again deferred decision on sanctioning of Rs. 17 crore to the Pune Municipal Transport (PMT) committee to purchase 117 new buses.

Sources said several members opposed the sanction because of increasing financial burden of PMT on the civic administration. The cold war between PMT and the civic administration is expected to take a serious turn if the stalemate continues. At the last PMT committee meeting, members warned that they would have to close several routes if the new buses were not added immediately.
