
BATHINDA, Oct 8: Duty Magistrate J.P.Behniwal extended the police remand of Nikhil Syal, son of Rakesh Kant Syal, proprietor of Goldren Forests, a leading finance company, by one day today.
He was sent to police custody yesterday on the orders of Chief Judicial Magistrate P K Dhir.
Nikhil, a student of DAV College Chandigarh has been facing the music for allegedly kidnapping a minor girl Bunny from the Bhagu road here on the evening of October 6.
Nikhil who was reportedly accompanied by his friend Rahul Raghav had tried to flee towards Chandigarh after kidnapping the girl. But as her parents informed the police timely, he had been arrested after the police chase of about two hours.
His friend Rahul who dodged the police at that time is still absconding. SP Detective M.S. Chhina has claimed that they had got a vital clue about Rahul and he would soon be arrested.Meanwhile, Bunny got her statement recorded under Section 164 CrPC with the Judicial Magistrate here. However, her statement has been sealed by the court but the family sources told to ENS that she had corborated the allegations levelled by her father Ajay Pal against Nikhil and Rahul.
Sources said that Bunny had revealed before the Magistrate that she had already known both the boys as they all studied together in the Alpine Model School near Chandigarh, till recently.
She has also reportedly blamed that both the accused forcibly had driven her into the car and that the cars glasses were immediately closed with a remote control.
