PUNE, Jan 1: In a gruesome mishap, an employee Pune Municipal Corporation's health department and his son were killed when their motorcycle by was hit by a Bajaj Auto bus near Moshi on the Pune-Nashik Road early this morning.Popatrao Gulabrao Konde (55), and his son Dheeraj (22), were proceeding towards Vadodara whenthe mishap occurred at 6.10 am opposite Meghdoot hotel near Bhosari. Dheeraj was riding the motorcycle. The bus was ferrying employees from Moshi to Akurdi.Both Popatrao and Dheeraj who fell on the road received grievous injuries. The employees contacted the Bhosari police station. The victims were rushed to Yeshwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital where the doctors pronounced them dead.Popatrao, a resident of A/12 Rajvilas Society in Koregaon Park, was working as a sanitary inspector at the Yerawada divisional office. He was recently promoted as divisional sanitary inspector. Dheeraj was completing his diploma course in mechanical engineering at Sou Venutai Chavan Polytechnique, Vadgaon Budruk.Dheeraj and his father were on their way to Vadodara to visit an ailing uncle. Dheeraj's mother had asked them to postpone the plan to go on the motorcycle. He had returned from Mumbai last night on the motorcycle.
