The Election Commission announced the constitution of a new Assembly in New Delhi.

.

The Election Commission announced the constitution of a new Assembly in Delhi on Thursday.

This will be the fourth Assembly of the national capital, the first being during 1993 and 1998. With this, the process of formation of the cabinet and first meeting of the Assembly for oath taking of members is likely to get expedited.

The announcement of the constitution of the new Assembly came three days after Congress bagged 42 seats out of 69 constituencies which went to assembly polls on November 29. BJP has 23 seats in the new Assembly while BSP has two and INLD one.

Election to one seat will be held on December 13 as the polling on Rajendra Nagar seat was rescheduled following the alleged suicide of BJP candidate Puran Chand Yogi in the midst of campaigning.
