CHENNAI, NOV 21: Quarter-finalists were spotted in the Junior National Badminton championship boys and girls though some seeded players, especially in the girls, were sent packing in pre-quarter matches today.

Qualifier BN Ashwini of Karnataka scalped eighth seed B Vahini A-I in the pre-quarterfinals girls while four other seeded players, including second seed Parul Priyadarshini, were upset.

Ashwini won 13-10, 13-11 while Parul Rly bowed to Mugda Bhawgath of Maharashtra 11-9, 11-9.

Other seeded players to lose were fifth seed Ketaki Thakkar A-I and sixth seed Neha Gangoli Mah. While Mumbai8217;s Neha lost to Karnataka8217;s Pooja M Patil 11-4, 11-3, Ketaki was defeated by Oli Deka Asm 8-11, 11-4, 11-8.Seventh seed Trupti Murugunde of Pune was toppled by Poonam Tivari UP 6-11, 11-7, 11-8 in the third round. However, Poonam lost to top seed Divya Ramesh A-I in the pre-quarters 11-2, 11-3.

In the boy8217;s third round, seventh seed Mitesh Hajirnis of Thane was sent crashing out by Uttar Pradesh8217;sSaranjit Khuswana 5-15, 15-11, 15-10.
