Former Brigadier and R038;AW employee Ujwal Dasgupta, who was under house arrest, was today picked up by officers of the Special Cell of Delhi Police and was detained at its Lodhi Road station for questioning.

Dasgupta, who was working as the Director Computer and Training in the R038;AW, was asked to go on leave after an IB team searched his office and sealed the computers and classified documents.

The intelligence agencies had mounted round-the-clock vigil on his house. The questioning started this morning after his name was found linked with Rosanna Minchew, a US diplomat. Later, he was detained for further interrogation.

Delhi Police had earlier arrested Mukesh Saini, coordinator of Indo-US Cyber Security Forum and Shib Shanker Paul, a senior system analyst in NSCS for allegedly passing classified information to Minchew.

The investigators are trying to find out what was passed on to Minchew, who reportedly left the country after intelligence agencies mounted surveillance on her.

Dasgupta8217;s role is crucial because he was in charge of an upgradation plan of technical surveillance and an overhaul of the entire system.
