The best place to find fashion designer Monisha Jaising on a weekday is her studio in Bandra. For two years she has been doing all her sketching, designing and even her own paperwork here. Monisha has made a name for herself in western wear for women in the last 10 years, and her knits and jerseys are known for being among the best in the business. quot;I used to have a larger studio with a workshop in Saki Naka, but now I have my own space away from the factory.quot; She reaches her studio every morning, grabs a quick bite at home in the middle and returns for another three-hour session in the afternoon. To get her creative juices flowing Monisha works with soft music playing in the background. And her den is full of fashion magazines, which keep her up to date on what is happening abroad.

Though she has been concentrating on her garment export business, Monisha has also put together her new collection. This will be on display at Ensemble by the end of the month. The colours that dominate this season8217;s line arepink, blue, green, black and white.

She just managed to take two days off from work recently to judge the preliminary rounds of the Smirnoff International Fashion Awards.
