Murder in Gurgaon

Taneja, who lived with his son, Gaurav, was alone when the assailants entered his house and killed him. Gaurav, who is an engineering student at Faridabad, was away.

The killers entered through the front entrance sometime after 2.10 p.m. and hit Taneja with sharp edged weapon on his skull, piercing it. Gaurav found his father lying in a pool of blood, when he returned home at around 6.30 p.m.

The police said that Taneja was being threatened by some persons and had received threatening calls today. According to the police, the motive for the murder was probably personal enmity.

The sequence of events suggest that the incident took place after 2.10 p.m. as Taneja8217;s servant was in the house till this time. The victim was sitting in the sun at that time and he apparently went in a little later. He switched on the TV and was probably napping on the bed when the assailants struck.

There was no sign of a forced entry. Taneja had apparently left the front door open.

The police sniffer dogs could only lead them till the Blue Bell School, which is about 500 metres from the spot of crime.
