
MUMBAI, October 8: A four day international congress on skull base surgery and neurosurgery is being held in the city from November 12 to discuss the recent advances made in this field.
Dr Keki Turel, head of neurosurgery department, Bombay Hospital said that the conference is of extreme scientific value as it will bring together internationally renowned neurosurgeons who will pool their knowledge of the advances made in theory, skills and tools.Some 500 delegates from 40 countries are expected to take part in this fifth Asian-Occenian International congress on Skull Base Surgery, he said.
The conference will also demonstrate the results that have been achieved when technology and medical skill have been combined to minimise tissue damage.
He claimed that India is at par with treatment provided in any part of the globe in terms of human endeavour and skill, though the technology might differ. He hoped that philanthropic organisations would help needy people to avail of this expensive but essential treatment.
