1 injured in film-set blast

A Bollywood junior artiste was seriously injured when the explosives he was testing for a blast scene went off accidentally at Dindoshi on Monday morning.

Said the Dindoshi police, the incident occurred at 8 am when Shrinivas Pandurag Naik (37) was preparing explosives for a blast scene in the Partho Ghosh directed film Majboor. The scene was to be shot at the Santosh Nagar zopadpatti near Vare High School, Goregoan (E).The explosives went off ripping the cabin where Naik was preparing for the shot. A case of negligence has been filed against fight director Mehbob Master.

Play competition

The 24th Hindi one-act play competition will be held at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan on March 23 to 25, 1998. The competition is open to all offices, companies, clubs, schools and colleges. The competition has an added attraction of a cash award of Rs 5,000 for the best script writer. The last date of receipt for entries is March 20.
