Course in water treatment
The Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University BATU has entered into an academic link interchange with Cranfield University in Water Quality Treatment under the Higher Education Links Scheme funded by the Department for International Development, UK and managed by the British Council. The collaboration between Ion Exchange India Ltd, Cranfield University and BATU is one of the first joint corporate and academic initiatives in the field of water treatment, said a press release. RTI Institute to hold sale
The annual summer sale of the Sir Ratan Tata Institute will be held from April 22, 23 and 24 between 10 am and 7 pm at its premises at 30, N S Patkar Marg Hughes Road. The proceeds will go to charity.

One floor will display food items like breads, biscuits, snacks andsavouries. On another floor will be baby clothing, women8217;s garments, nighties, bedsheets and embroidered table linen and sarees, including traditional Parsi sarees. Orders will also be accepted. CR club to hold adventure camp
The Central Railway Adventure Sports Club will organise its second children8217;s camp near Kalyan from April 23 to 27. Participants will be imparted training on trekking, rock climbing, rappelling, valley crossing and rifle shooting. The camp is open to children between the ages of 10 and 15 years. Opera Browser founder in India
John Stephenson Von Tetzchner, founder of Opera Browser and co-founder and CEO of Opera Software, will be visiting India. On the Mumbai leg of his tour, he will address CEOs, management executives and information technology professionals at theTaj Mahal Hotel on April 26. The presentation is being arranged by the IAS Management Development Forum.

ABVP to hold sports camp
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad has organised a sports meet for college students at Nare Park Udyan and Nare Park High School, Parel from May 1 to 10. Students will get guidance and training in kho-kho, kabaddi, carrom and chess, among other sports. British Library membership drive

Award for CR cameraman
T J Shah, a cameraperson employed with the Central Railway, was recently felicitated for meritorious service. Shah has been covering various functions in which the President, the Prime Minister, ministers and other VIPs and dignitaries have participated. His skills have also been utilised in displaying developmental activities and railway exhibitions. Shah also prepared rare black and white photographs of the erstwhile GP Railway for display in the exhibition held at CST on the occasion of 50 years of Independence.

Cross Country Immigration Service, a Ministry of Labour approved agency has organised a seminar on Gateway for Computer Software professionals for Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom on April 25. Condolence meeting
A meeting to condole the death of S B Velankar, noted Sanskrit scholar, poet and playwright and inventor of the PIN code, will be held at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chowpatty at 5 pm on April 21. Velankar, who held the office of Post-Master General and retired as Additional Secretary to the Union Ministry of Communications, conceived and introduced the PIN code to overcome delays in the delivery of mail to the families of armymen deployed in the Indo-Bangladesh War of 1972.
