
President8217;s medal awarded
The President8217;s medal of home guards and civil defence was given to Deputy Area Supervisor A S Nikam for meritorious service at the Republic Day parade function held in New Delhi. Also honoured with the medal was the Reserve Bank of India8217;s Kishor Kalyankar, an honorary divisional warden and social worker.
IAAI workers8217; stir deferred
The International Airports Authority of India Workers8217; Union has deferred its strike call on February 2.The decision was taken on Wednesday after the management agreed to the union8217;s demands regarding additional manpower and compensation in lieu of non-issuance of uniforms for the last two years. The union said they will reconsider the strike if the issue of implementing additional manpower is not resolved within a specified time frame.
