Karate championship held

Fifteen city youngsters from the Karate Osho International KOI academy recently won medals at a local karate championship, in which over 170 youths participated. Twenty-three-year-old Mohammed Arif, a second dan black belt from KOI academy, was amongst those who received the top honours at this annual championship.

ABVP8217;s literary conferences

The Mumbai unit of the Akhil Bharatiya Viyarthi Parishad is organising state-level literary conferences on September 18, 19 and 20 at Pune. Noted Marathi litterateurs will participate at the meet. For details, call on 4306321.

Accolades for city prof

The International Association of Educators for World Peace IAEWP, a UN-approved organisation, has appointed professor D R Bhalerao from Mumbai as its vice-president for Central Asian affairs. Bhalerao was also made executive board member of IAEWP, at the ninth Congress of the organisation which was held recently in Brazil.
