Eye donation campaign

  • Public speaking workshop

  • Special postage stamp issued

  • The department of posts has issued a set of special postage stamps to pay homage to the martyrs on Independence Day. The set of two stamps will be available for sale at the Mumbai GPO.
  • Schoolboy missing

    Schoolboy LaljiMathurdas Ahir 14 has been missing from 202, Sanghvi Tower, near Shree Krishna Complex, Vasai W since August 13. A missing complaint had been registered with the Manikpur police station, Vasai.A few days later the boy was sighted on a motorbike with an unknown person by a family friend, Shivlal, at the Ambadi Road area in Vasai. Before Shivlal could reach the boy, the man sped away with Ahir towards the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway.

    Later, the boys8217; parents were informed that Lalji was seen with an unknown person at Govandi following which they registered another complaint kidnapping with the Manikpur police station.

    Govt go-ahead for SIES college

    The state government has granted the South Indian Education Society permission to start a degree cpoege affiliated to the Mumbai University at Nerul, Navi Mumbai, said a press release. The SIES plans to start the course thisyear itself, and the classes will be conducted at a separate building in the college8217;s management complex at Nerul. The foundation stone for a new commerce building costing four crore was aid by the Sakatapuram Shankaracharya Sri Krishanand Teertha Mahaswami on Saturday, added the release.
