3 held for attack on principal
Three men have been arrested for attacking the principal of Dr Ambedkar College at Wadala on Sunday evening. The incident took place at around 5 pm on Sunday when the accused were playing cricket near the Siddarth hostel attached to the college. When pricipal Anandrao Salkule took objection, the three men attacked him with a cricket bat and stumps, police said. Salkule was admitted to a nearby hospital and discharged after treatment. The three men are Pramod Hasmane, Manohar Singar and Sachin Dhule.

7 injured in stove-blast
Seven persons, including four teenagers, suffered minor burn injuries when a stove exploded at a tea stall near Garibi Hospital at Malad at 11.47 am on Monday. The injured are Ashish Gupta 17, Maru Pinto 18, Sunil Malgaonkar 18, Ram Gawda 16, Gamu Gawda 18, Deepak Humb 25 and Jeetendra Root 35. They have been admitted to Bhagwati Hospital in Borivali.
