
Stone-throwing at Ambernath
A 48-year-old passenger of the CST-bound Deccan Express was hit on the head by a stone flung at him from the railway tracks near Ambernath station on Thursday evening. According to railway police, Paresh Takal, a Pune resident, was hit while sitting in the train. He was treated at a private hospital and a complaint lodged at the Kurla police station.
Tribute to fire chief today
A tribute to late Chief Fire Officer Dr V V Rao and a guard of honour by officers and staff of the Mumbai Fire Brigade will be held at the fire brigade headquarters, Byculla between 10 am and 11.30 am on October 23. The funeral procession will start for the Shivaji Park Electric Crematorium. A prayer meeting will also be held on October 25.
Husband stabs wife to death
A 35-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband at Bandra W early on Thursday. Reshma Paste was at her residence near Jari Mari Mandir on S T Road when her husband Ramesh stabbed her with a kitchenknife. She died en route to hospital. Bandra police said Ramesh suspected that his wife was having an extra-maritial relationship. The couple was married for more than 15 years. Paste 40 has been arrested.
