
Bhatt faces defamation suit for Zakhm:
Mumbai Youth Association president Pradeep Bhavnani said that he would file a criminal defamation against film director Mahesh Bhatt for the latter8217;s claim that he had threatened him of dire consequences if controversial film Zakhm is not withdrawn from screening. 8220;I am in the process of consulting my lawyers and by Monday or Tuesday I will file a defamation suit in the court,8221; he stated. 8220;We have objected to the screening of the film and expressed our resentment also, but have never threatened the distributor of the film,8221; he claimed.
Two held for stealing vehicles
The detection unit of Crime Branch of Mumbai police nabbed two taxi-drivers and recovered eight stolen vehicles worth over Rs 30 lakh from them. The accused duo, Umashankar Surajbali Tiwari and Rajesh Rampat Tiwari, have been detained. Police said the modus operandi adopted to commit the crime was unique and two more associates Amar Singh and Vinod alias Babloo, friends of theaccused from Uttar Pradesh are involved in the crime. They are still at large.
One killed in rail accident
One passenger was killed and three seriously injured when the Pune-bound Shatabdi Express ran over a cow near Neral station early on Thursday morning. Shankar Nimbalkar 60 was killed on the spot following impact of the collision.
