Mukesh Ambani meets Yechury

Barely days after CPIM leader Sitaram Yechury sought a probe into the role of his company in the Iraqi oil-for-food programme, Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani yesterday met him at the CPIM headquarters in New Delhi.

The meeting, close to an hour, came against the backdrop of Left demand for a probe against all non-contractual beneficiaries named in the Volcker report.

The meeting assumes significance since Yechury has been vociferous in demanding a probe into all deals mentioned in Volcker report. Sources said the Reliance chief is reported to have told Yechury that his company had nothing to worry about. This is Ambani8217;s second visit to CPM HQ.
