Barely days after CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechury sought a probe into the role of his company in the Iraqi oil-for-food programme, Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani yesterday met him at the CPI(M) headquarters in New Delhi.
The meeting, close to an hour, came against the backdrop of Left demand for a probe against all non-contractual beneficiaries named in the Volcker report.
The meeting assumes significance since Yechury has been vociferous in demanding a probe into all deals mentioned in Volcker report. Sources said the Reliance chief is reported to have told Yechury that his company had nothing to worry about. This is Ambani’s second visit to CPM HQ.
