Maharashtra State Police continued their resurgence in the Mumbai Hockey Association MHA Super League, by posting a convincing 2-0 victory over Indian Navy at the MHA-Mahindra stadium in Churchgate on Wednesday. This was the third straight win for MS Police, who lost the first three games of their campaign.

The Dhanraj Pillay coached MS Police outfit missed ample scoring opportunities in the first half and the teams were locked at 0-0 at the half-time hooter. The Navy outfit have had a horrible season so far, and are on the verge of being relegated, but it seemed like they will escape with a draw from this match. The first goal for MS Police did not come till the 62nd minute, as Amol Bhosle capitalized on a defensive lapse and struck a back-hand shot straight into the back of the wooden cage. V Manugde then sealed the issue for the policemen as he doubled the lead seven minutes later.

In the other encounter, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre BARC won 4-3 in a seven-goal thriller against IIT-Mumbai in a Second Division encounter. Narinder scored a brace for BARC, while Barla and S Choudhary scored the other two goals, while Girish, Naresh Dhakad and Himanshu scored a goal each for the IIT outfit.
