MUMBAI, NOV 24: Mumbai Port Trust (MPT) stunned Central Railway Mumbai Division (CRMD) by a solitary goal in the quarter-finals of the Bombay Provincial Cup hockey tournament at the Mahindra Stadium, Churchgate, today. They scored through Abhijit Sirsat. In another quarter-final , Tatas defeated Bombay Republicans 5-1. Amjad Khan (2), Enrico Fernandes, Asad Khan and Blaise Monteiro netted for Tatas.

ANDREW’S WIN: St Andrew’s defeated Lala Lajpatrai 17-15, 15-4 in the second round of the Inter-collegiate volleyball tournament at Chembur English Sports Complex.

Other results: Burhani bt PD Lions 15-4, 15-5; Sathaya bt St Xavier’s 15-2, 15-2; Vani Vidyalaya bt Bhavans Andheri 15-12, 15-5; Acharya Marate bt Maharashtra College 15-12, 15-5.

ST MARY’S SSC WIN: St Mary’s SSC defeated Holy Name 3-0 in the Inter-School football tournament organised by the Goan Sports Association at Cross maidan, today. Meldon Denis, Sandeep Fernandes and Brian Fernandes were the goal-getters. In another match, St Paul’s beat St Augustine’s, Vashi, by a solitary goal scored by Nigel Cabral.

PARAMJEET CHAMP: Paramjeet Singh of Tri Star cycling club captured the top spot in the Navi Mumbai Sports Association-sponsored 110 km cycle race from Vashi to Khopoli and back conducted by the Amateur Cycling Association of Bombay Suburban District, on Sunday.

TATAS HOLD MAHINDRAS: A 147-run fifth wicket partnership between captain Lalchand Rajput (95) and Kiran Pawar (73) enabled Tatas to draw with Mahindras on the concluding day of the Times Shield A Division cricket match at Cross maidan, today.
