Motorists slug it out for 3 hours on the highway

PUNE, Nov 2: The highly congested Mumbai-Pune highway stretch between Bopodi and Phugewadi witnessed yet another traffic jam for over three hours this evening.

Ttraffic came to a near standstill during the peak hours after 6 pm. Negligent driving and reckless parking of vehicles, besides the incompleted works of road widening near Dapodi caused the traffic snarl.

The vehicles proceeding towards Mumbai moved on the new Harris bridge causing a major hurdle to the movement of vehicles coming from the opposite direction. Reckless parking of autorickshaws near Dapodi market, besides overtaking by drivers and movement in the lanes meant for traffic coming in the opposite direction totally brought the traffic to a halt.
